Dr. Michael G Fine, DPM
Biography and Education
Dr. Michael G. Fine was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. His college degree is a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland in College Park, earned in August 1973. He attended Podiatric Medical School in Chicago, Illinois, from 1973 to 1977 where Dr. Fine earned a Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degrees from Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine. He was selected by Dr. Herbert Rothfeld, President of the American Podiatric Medical Association, to be the first podiatric surgical resident at Clinton Community Hospital in southern Prince Georges County.
Private practice began for Dr. Fine in August 1978 at the same location for the past 31 years at 1307 N. Highland Street, Arlington, Virginia 22201, in the Clarendon neighborhood of North Arlington, Virginia. The practice is located in a Colonial-style single family home which has been remodeled to function as a podiatric medical office. Dr. Fine is an active dues paying member of local, state and national podiatric medical associations. For the past 31 years, Dr. Fine has been an active member of Virginia Hospital Center’s Department of Orthotics Affiliated Podiatric Medical staff. He was honored to have been selected as a podiatric medial consultant for the highly acclaimed Wound Care Center in Virginia Hospital Center, opened in October 2007. He has sessions at the Wound Care Center on Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings. On April 5, 2009, Dr. Fine achieved Board Certification in Wound Care from the American Professional Wound Care Association. He is a Fellow on Council on Medical Education Testing and a diplomat of the National Board of Podiatry Examiners. Three Georgetown University Medical Residents have spent two weeks each in Dr. Fine’s podiatric medical practice gaining a broad education on podiatric patient care. For many years Dr. Fine has been the podiatric medical consultant for Assisted Living Emeritus of Arlington and Woodland Hills Retirement Center and sees patients in both facilities on a regular basis. He also serves on the Advisory Committee of WalkHealthy.Com.
Dr. Fine is happily married. His daughter Lisa is married and has a 5 ½ year old son Eli, who lives in Bethesda, Maryland. His son Steven is married to Joelle and they are expecting their first child in March 2010. They reside in Santa Clara, California. Dr. Fine is a devoted family man and enjoys gathering with his warm and loving family. He enjoys interactions with social friends involving theatre, music, history and cultural events. He is an especially passionate sports fan supporting University of Maryland basketball, men’s and women’s programs, along with Orioles, Nationals and Redskins. Traveling in America and internationally has enriched Dr. Fine’s life experiences and is one of Dr. Fine’s hobbies.
